This past weekend, the Norcross Cross Country team headed to the Gwinnett County Championships. It was an eventful day that started with the top athletes in the Varsity Girls race being sent the wrong way on the course. This made finding accurate results nearly impossible. A few days later we believe we had results as accurate as we can get them using different videos from the last time in the race before those athletes were sent the wrong way. Out of the 23 Girls teams that entered athletes in the Varsity race, our girls finished 8th!

Elizabeth May(the student, not the teacher) and Emily Umana-Perez both competed for our jv squad finishing with times of 31:47.69 and 38:13.43 for both of their first official 5ks!

In comparison to how the morning started, the boys' race went off without a hitch on the route, and they battled to a 5th place finish for Varsity out of 24 teams. This was highlighted by junior runner, D'Sean Ban, earning a top 10 finish and All-County honors. We also had freshman, Teddy Hebenstreit battle to a 5th place finish in the jv race as he is coming back into form after an untimely late summer injury.
