NORCROSS — Tyler Ruffin cut Norcross' deficit in half in the third quarter, but North Forsyth’s strong first half was too much on Friday night.


The Blue Devils lost 35-14 to the visitors and fell to 2-2 on the season.

“We did a lot of great things, but we've got to clean some stuff up,” said Norcross head coach Corey Richardson.

North Forsyth’s Cash Martin started the game off with a 3-yard touchdown pass from Noah Bourque to make the score 7-0. Michael Turner scored on a 26-yard touchdown pass from Bourque 10 seconds into the second quarter to make the score 14-0.

Jackson Hall later scored on a 6-yard carry to put the Raiders up 21-0.


Tyler Cianciolo recovered a Norcross fumble, but Norcross’ defense prevented the Raiders from another scoring drive.


Norcross’ offense drove the ball to the Raiders' 11-yard line, but North Forsyth’s Marco Troncalli recovered a second Norcross fumble to set the Raiders up for another touchdown drive.

Bourque threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Turner with three seconds left in the half to put the Raiders up 28-0.

Norcross came into the second half looking like a different team, scoring 14 unanswered points to cut North Forsyth’s lead in half.

“When we got into the locker room, that’s when I challenged the team, don’t look at the scoreboard,” said Richardson.

Ruffin scored a 1-yard touchdown run to put Norcross on the board. The Blue Devil defense forced North Forsyth into a three-and-out, and Ruffin followed up with a 6-yard touchdown run to make the score 28-14.


Norcross’ Brooks Thomas had a big 7-yard sack on second down, forcing the Raiders to punt two plays later.

Norcross later mounted a 12-play drive into the red zone after getting the ball back. However, the comeback fell short due to an interception by North Forsyth’s Carter Black at the 8-yard line.

North Forsyth drove the ball the length of the field. Jackson Hall scored off a 23-yard run to make the final score 35-14.

Norcross will start region play next week against Brookwood on Sept. 25.
