Jerry Deng, North Carolina State

High school: Norcross

Seed: No. 11

NCAA opener: Tuesday, March 17 vs. No. 11 Texas in First Four at 9:15 p.m.

TV: TruTV

Of note: Deng, a 6-9, 230-pound junior, is in his first season at N.C. State after playing the 2024-25 season at Florida State (7 ppg) and the 2023-24 season at Hampton (10.1 ppg, 4.2 rpg). He played eight games early in the season, scoring a season-high 14 on December 17 vs. Texas Southern, but he has not played since after suffering an injury. Wolfpack head coach Will Wade announced earlier that Deng will take a redshirt this season.

Jaden Harris, Kennesaw State

High school: Norcross

Seed: No. 14

NCAA opener: Thursday, March 19 vs. No. 3 Gonzaga at 10 p.m.

TV: TBS

Of note: Harris averages 8 points (on 37.6 shooting from 3-point range) in 24.7 minutes per game in his first season at Kennesaw State. He played in 64 games (24 starts) the previous two seasons at New Mexico State after spending his first two seasons at the junior college level for South Plains College.

London Johnson, Louisville

High school: Norcross

Seed: No. 6

NCAA opener: Thursday, March 19 vs. No. 11 South Florida at 1:30 p.m.

TV: TNT

Of note: Johnson took a unique route to college basketball, playing for three pro seasons in the NBA G League (two with the Ignite, one with the Maine Red Claws and Cleveland Charge). He averaged 8.3 points and 3.4 assists in 100 G League games after finishing his career at Norcross with a 2022 state title. The 6-3, 175-pound guard, cleared by the NCAA for college basketball and classified as a junior, signed with Louisville in November and reported to the team in mid-December — the late start prompted the team to redshirt him this season.
