Beginning with the 2025-26 school year, the Blue Devils will contest all events inside their stadium on newly named Keith G. Maloof Field — the board’s approval was the final step in the naming, which was recommended by the high school where he coached the majority of his career.
The community plans to honor Maloof at the first home football game of the season on August 15. Norcross’ opponent that night is Lanier, where Maloof’s son Tyler is the head football coach.
Maloof announced his retirement after the 2024 football season, his 40th in coaching. For his final 26 seasons, he was head coach at Norcross (the longest-tenured Gwinnett coach) and he won more games as a Gwinnett head football coach than anyone — his 210 wins broke the previous record of 197 held by former Parkview coach Cecil Flowe.
Maloof, whose father George and brother Kevin also were successful head football coaches in Georgia, led Norcross to the football program’s first two state championships in 2012 and 2013. He never had a losing record in 29 seasons as a head coach.
He inherited a struggling Norcross program in 1999 that was coming off a 2-8 season, three straight losing seasons and dropping participation numbers. He built the program up from that stage and into a state power, finishing his career with a 232-103 record.
